What Happens to my old Medicare Prescription Drug Plan after May 15, 2006?

As the Medicare Part D prescription discount plans are introduced, existing Medicare-approved drug discount cards will be phased-out.

If you buy a Medicare Part D prescription plan prior to May 15, 2006, your old Medicare-approved discount card will expire on the date your Medicare Part D coverage begins.

Please note: All Medicare-approved prescription drug discount cards will expire on May 15, 2006.

Please also note that if you have another Medicare Supplement that has Prescription Drug Coverage (such as Parts H, I, J), after your enrollment in a new Medicare Part D program, your H, I, or J plan will be altered to eliminate the prescription drug coverage and your H, I, or J plan premium should be reduced accordingly.
